Most small group exercise classes are beginner-friendly and don’t require any experience, so you can simply show up, follow the instructor, and get a great workout. Barre
Barre is a full-body workout that’s designed to strengthen and tone your physique, blending elements of ballet, Pilates, and yoga. Each barre class is different, but in most cases, you’ll likely perform low-impact, high-intensity body-weight movements while using a ballet barre, mat, or other props (such as resistance bands, weights, and balls).
At CA, we offer sessions such as Ballet Barre, Barre Pilates, and Total Body Barre, with each one catering to all fitness levels and focusing on different aspects of barre. For example, Ballet Barre attendees will perform more ballet- and cardio-based exercises, while Barre Pilates class-goers will practice a non-impact mix of barre and mat Pilates moves.
Cycling
Cycling is another fantastic option if you’re searching for an upbeat workout class for women. During these sessions, you’ll hop onto a stationary bike and pedal your way through an exciting ride that’s filled with music, movement, and calorie-burning fun. Like barre, cycle sessions are low-impact but high-intensity, meaning that you’ll get a killer workout without putting too much stress on your joints.
CA’s cycling classes are held in our cutting-edge cycling studios, which are located in each of our three Columbia gyms. Class options include MyCycle, which incorporates drills into the cycling session for an extra-effective workout, and MyMusic, which is set to a heart-pumping soundtrack of popular tunes.
Kickboxing
Punch, jab, and kick your way to an effective, high-energy workout in one of CA’s kickboxing classes. Inspired by boxing and martial arts, kickboxing is a no-contact sport that gets your body moving, increases stamina, and improves strength and coordination.
Whether you prefer a traditional kickboxing class or a session with a unique twist, CA has you covered. We host a variety of classes, including Kickboxing, Tae Bo, and BodyCombat, each of which delivers an action-packed workout that’s designed to help you see results.
