Benefits of Small Group Fitness Classes
Attending any type of group fitness class is an exciting and social way to stay in shape, but joining a smaller session with fewer participants can offer an even better experience. Here’s why.
How small group workouts improve your experience
If you’ve ever worked out in a group setting, you already know how valuable it is to be surrounded by other fitness-minded folks who share the same commitment to improving their health. You can make that experience even better by joining smaller, more intimate sessions. Here are a few of the top benefits of small group fitness classes.

Stay fit and healthy
Like any other kind of workout, keeping active is the biggest benefit of small group exercise sessions. Whether you love cardio classes, yoga practice, aquatics sessions, or interval training, you can be sure that you’ll get a fantastic workout that makes you feel great.
More personal coaching experience
In small classes, you’re more likely to receive individualized training from your fitness instructors. Not only does this one-on-one coaching help you maintain proper form and maximize your workout, but it can also prevent injuries and keep you safer in class.
Added accountability
When you commit to attending a small group exercise class regularly, you’ll begin building relationships with your instructor and fellow gym-goers. In many cases, you’re more likely to attend class and give it your all if you know that others are counting on you. Simply put, it makes it easier to build healthy habits, reach your fitness goals, and achieve the results that you want.
Extra motivation
Even if you don’t consider yourself competitive, working out alongside other people can push you to perform better in the gym – especially when you’re exercising in a smaller group of people. When you see others doing their best, it motivates you to do the same. Also, if you feel like you’ve hit a plateau in your solo training, small group fitness classes can give you that extra boost you need to get back on track.
Sense of community and camaraderie
Similarly, making a habit of attending a particular class helps you bond with the other regulars in the session. While you’re there, you can befriend people who share your interest in health and enjoy an hour of socializing in addition to getting a killer workout.
