Spin classes for beginners and first-timers
If you’re trying spin for the first time, we’d recommend signing up for the MyCycle class. As our most in-demand spin session, we host nearly 20 of these classes per week across all three of our Columbia gyms.
Designed for all experience levels, MyCycle is an energy-filled ride that focuses on building strength, increasing endurance, and maximizing your power on the bike. Our friendly fitness instructors will guide you through the key moves and positions that you’ll need to know in any spin class, such as tap-backs, sprints, and push-ups.
Building muscle and getting in shape
Looking for a more challenging, total body spin workout? Consider joining CA’s MyCycleStrength sessions. Like other gym cycling classes, these classes are all about getting stronger and faster on the bike, but they also incorporate light hand weights so you can work on sculpting your arms as well as your legs.
Music lovers
While loud, upbeat music is a must-have in any gym spin class, CA’s MyMusic sessions take it to another level. During this class, you’ll pedal, climb, and sprint your way through 45 minutes of today’s top playlists, working all of your major muscle groups.
Like our other gym cycling classes, MyMusic is an excellent workout to help you get closer to your fitness goals – whether you’re hoping to trim down, bulk up, or simply stay active.
Gentle on joints
If you struggle with joint stiffness or you’re recovering from an injury, a traditional gym spin class might not be the best option for you. Instead, you could consider CA’s Aqua Spin sessions, which offer an awesome total body workout without putting too much strain on your joints. (Please consult your doctor if you’re dealing with injuries or pain and want to begin a new exercise routine.)
For a slightly more challenging workout, check out our Aqua Spin & Strength classes. These unique circuit-style sessions combine cardio and strength training with a range of on- and off-bike exercises.

- Step
- Pilates
Whether you’re a cycling newbie, a long-time spin enthusiast, or somewhere in between, we’d love for you to join us in a gym spin class at CA.
