COVID-19 Safety Updates
UPDATE – 2/1/2022
Effective Tuesday, February 1, the mask mandate that has been in effect since December 26 and required masks in all indoor spaces across Howard County, has been lifted by the County Executive’s Office.
Fully vaccinated individuals now have the option to remove their masks in CA facilities. However, we continue to support and strongly encourage the use of masks.
Every person deserves to feel safe, healthy and comfortable in CA spaces, and masks will always be welcome without question or concern.
Throughout the pandemic, CA continues to follow data, metrics and guidelines from county, state and national experts, particularly when it comes to emerging variants of the COVID-19 virus. CA is also in constant consultation with our Medical Director Dr. Harry Oken and the Department of Health, making necessary adjustments based on the most updated information and its impact on our immediate community.
The following are the latest guidelines for specific facilities and programs:
Art Center
General Guidelines
- MASKS: Effective February 1, 2022, fully vaccinated individuals have the option to remove their masks in CA facilities.
- RESERVATIONS:
- Columbia Art Center will be open for workshops, classes and small group rentals. Click here for hours of operation.
- Pre-registration is required for all classes and workshops. You can either register online here or by calling Columbia Art Center at 410-730-0075.
- Gallery shows will resume in September 2021 and may require reservations. A link to reservation sign up will be posted on our website for each show.
- WALK-INS: We are now open to the public. Appointments are no longer required.
- DISTANCING:
- All Art Center studios have been cleaned and reconfigured to comply with proper distancing practices.
- Physical and social distancing is expected by all staff, instructors, and students at all times.
- Instructors and students will be required to remain in their assigned studios for programs. There will be no wandering between rooms.
- SANITATION & CLEANLINESS:
- All cleaning and disinfecting will occur per the current CDC recommendations. This includes frequent cleaning of all high contact areas before the start of and at the end of all programs.
- Hand sanitizer stations are available in each studio.
- PARENT DROP-OFF: Only program participants are permitted in the classroom/studio, including children’s programs. Parents must drop off children in the designated area.
How do I register for an art workshop or class?
You are welcome to review our roster of programs and either register online here or by calling Columbia Art Center at 410-730-0075.
Can I walk into the Columbia Art Center without a reservation?
Yes, we are now open to the public. Appointments are no longer required.
Is Columbia Art Center enforcing mask and distancing requirements?

Basketball
General Guidelines

LOCATION: Basketball hoops at Columbia Gym and Supreme Sports Club are available during open gym, CA Pick Up and reservation times. Click here for the latest hours of operation at Columbia Gym and here for hours at Supreme Sports Club.
EQUIPMENT: A limited supply of loaner equipment is available.
SANITATION & CLEANLINESS: All arena equipment and high-touch surfaces, including restrooms, are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized and disinfected daily by staff following strict cleaning protocols.
Are reservations required to use a hoop?
Basketball hoops are available during open gym, CA Pick Up and reservation times. Reservations are not required during open gym and CA Pick Up times. During reservations times, basketball hoops are available for reservations online.
How far in advance can I reserve a hoop and for how long?
Basketball hoops can be reserved online seven days in advance. Each person can only make one reservation per day. Those reservations can be made on the half hour for 25 minutes or 55 minutes.
Who can reserve a basketball hoop?
CA Fit&Play, 5Day Golf&Play, Golf Fit&Play and CG/SSC 1Fit members can reserve a basketball hoop at no charge.
Are the courts open for competitive play?
Competitive play is allowed during open gym, CA Pick Up and reservation times.
Will members and guests be required to wear a face mask while using the hoops?
Effective February 1, 2022, fully vaccinated individuals have the option to remove their masks in CA facilities.
Are basketball courts available to rent?
Basketball courts are available for rental at Columbia Gym. .
Columbia DogPark
MASKS: Fully vaccinated individuals have the option to remove their masks in CA’s outdoor spaces. Click here for an in-depth explanation of our mask policies.

Will the CDP be open to the general public?
Only individuals who have registered and received an official CDP annual dog tag(s) for their dog(s) will be able to enter the Park.
What do I need to enter the Columbia DogPark?
A 2021 CDP annual dog tag and current rabies record for their dog(s). Be prepared to show your dogs’ 2021 CDP annual dog tag, and provide your and your dogs’ names to the Park Attendant.
Will tennis balls and ball flingers be available?
We are now offering tennis balls or ball flingers at this time. No outside dog toys are allowed at the CDP.
What if my dog’s rabies vaccination has expired?
Dogs with expired rabies vaccination records will not be permitted to enter the Park. If your dogs’ rabies vaccination records on file with CDP are expired, please email a copy of your dogs’ updated rabies vaccination record provided by a veterinarian to open.space@columbiaassociation.org.
Will portable restrooms be available?
The portable restroom will be closed to the public until further notice.
Do you have any tips or recommendations for playing safely with my dog at the Park?
All Columbia DogPark rules and regulations are in full force, and dog handlers are responsible for their dogs’ behavior. Please carry your dogs’ leash with you into the off-leash areas in the event your dog has an altercation with another dog to enable quick intervention and separation of the dogs.

Will patrons be required to wear a face mask while visiting the Columbia DogPark?
Vaccinated individuals have the option to remove their mask in outdoor spaces. Non-vaccinated Park patrons are required to wear a face mask while waiting at the Park entrance during the check-in process or in areas where physical/social distancing is not possible.
Why is there a difference between the operating procedures at the Columbia DogPark and the Worthington Dog Park?
The Columbia DogPark is privately owned and operated by the Columbia Association. The Worthington Dog Park is owned and operated by Howard County. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the operating procedures of the Columbia DogPark are guided and approved by the Health Department to ensure the safety of our Park patrons and staff.
Fitness Clubs
- MASKS: Effective February 1, 2022, fully vaccinated individuals have the option to remove their masks in CA facilities.
- SANITATION:
- Increased, thorough cleanings will be conducted using disinfectant recognized by the EPA as effective against COVID-19. This includes regular walk-throughs by our team to continually clean and sanitize high-touch areas.
- We’ve installed Airius PureAir fans throughout the club that use UV sanitation to kill bacteria and viruses in the air.
- Spray bottles with clean rags and sanitizing disposable wipes are available throughout the facility. Members and guests are asked to continue to sanitize equipment after use. Each member will be given a clean towel to sanitize their equipment after each use. There are also an increased number of sanitation stations around the club, including equipment wipes and spray bottles.

Will members using the club be required to wear a face mask at all times, even while working out?
Effective February 1, 2022, fully vaccinated individuals have the option to remove their masks in CA facilities.
Will locker rooms and showers be available for use?
Yes, locker rooms are available for use. Towel service is available.
When will Kidspace reopen?
Kidspace has reopened with enhanced measures consistent with CDC guidelines. The program is open to children ages 6 weeks to 13 years old. A face mask will be required for all children 2-13. Reservations are required for children under the age of 2 and highly recommended for children 2-13. Visit our Kidspace webpage for additional information.
Will recreational sports like racquetball and basketball be allowed?
Racquetball is available for individual, singles and double play. Racquetball challenge courts are not available at this time. Basketball hoops are available for group play. You can reserve a time online or by calling the facility.
Golf
- MASKS: Effective February 1, 2022, fully vaccinated individuals have the option to remove their masks in our outdoor spaces and CA facilities, including the pro shop.
- PAYMENT: We encourage everyone to prepay your green and cart fees by credit card (Visa, Mastercard, or Discover) by calling Hobbit’s Glen at 410-730-5980 or Fairway Hills at 410-730-1112 x 7 at least an hour before play or the day before if you have an early time. No cash transactions will be accepted until further notice.
- DISTANCING:
- Physical distancing of at least 6 feet must be maintained at all times. Please help by monitoring yourselves.
- The driving range and putting green are available to players warming up before the round as long as social distancing is maintained. Check here for the latest driving range and putting green hours.
- We encourage walking for those who can. Walkers can check in with the starter.
- When finished, please remove all trash from your cart at the cart return area and leave the premises. Please do not congregate in the parking lot.
- SANITATION & CLEANLINESS:
- We recommend you bring your own hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, mask, and any other protective gear you feel necessary to stay safe.
- Golf carts will be cleaned and sanitized after each use.
- TEE TIMES: Tee times will be spaced to 10 minutes apart to encourage distancing between groups.
- EQUIPMENT:
- Golfers are required to load and unload their own bag.
- Avoid touching any equipment other than your own. This includes golf carts, bags, clubs, tees, pull carts, etc.
- FOOD & BEVERAGE:
- The Turn House Restaurant is open for the purchase of food and beverages and water is available.
- RESTROOMS: Restrooms will be open in the Clubhouse and at the turn between holes 9 and 10. Restrooms are cleaned and disinfected regularly.

Am I required to wear a mask?
Face masks are recommended whenever it is not possible to maintain social distancing of at least six feet, but they are no longer required in CA facilities or while you play golf outdoors. We recommend you bring your own hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, and any other protective gear you feel necessary to stay safe.
Is Fairway Hills still open to the public or just CA members?
Fairway Hills remains open to all – both CA members and the general public.
What has been done to disinfect high-contact areas?
All pro shop areas – including doors, light switches, and restrooms – are cleaned and sanitized regularly.
How many guests can I bring with me?
Members may bring three guests with them to the club.
Will I be able to bring my own alcohol?
No, alcohol may not be brought to the courses.
Are the golf leagues going to resume?
Our league play has resumed. Please contact the Pro Shop for sign-up information.
Will you be offering golf lessons this season?
Private lessons available year-round – Indoors, and outdoors weather permitting. Social distancing is observed.
Are you booking for golf outings/fundraisers/tournaments for this year?

If I froze or canceled my CA membership, can I still play golf at Hobbit’s Glen Golf Club?
If you are a Columbia resident, you will pay the Columbia Cardholder rate. Non-residents would pay the guest rate. However, you would not have member privileges, such as the ability to bring a guest with you.
Group Fitness
MASKS: Effective February 1, 2022, fully vaccinated individuals have the option to remove their masks in CA facilities.
ILLNESS POLICY: Members who are experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19 are not allowed to use the facilities or attend classes.
CAPACITY: Due to limited space and availability, you are encouraged to limit attendance to one class per day. However, participants will not be turned away if space is available. We will monitor class demand and adjust the schedule accordingly.
REGISTRATION: To register for a Group Fitness class, please follow the following instructions:
Golf F&P, CA Fit&Play may pre-register online, in person, or on the phone 48 hours in advance of your selected class.
1Fit members may pre-register online, in person, or on the phone 24 hours in advance of your selected class.
Walk-ins are allowed on a space available basis. However, pre-registration is strongly encouraged due to space limitations.
Play, 5 Day Golf&Play, non-members, and Columbia Cardholders may pay a guest fee to participate in group fitness classes as space is available.
Before Class
Arrive 5 minutes before BodyPump and 2 minutes before all other classes or your space may be given to someone on the waitlist.
Fully vaccinated individuals have the option to remove their masks during group fitness classes.
Please bring your own water bottle and towel. Other props and equipment will be made available and sanitized in between uses.
Select a physically distanced fitness spot (see floor markers) and use only that spot before and during class.
The instructor will call attendance prior to class start. Drop-ins will be taken on a space available basis. Clean your hands and sanitize all equipment prior to use.
During Class
Respect other class attendees and maintain a minimum distance of 6 feet from others at all times.
After Class
Please clean all supplies you used, put them away, and leave the facility premises.

Why must I make a reservation for all Group Fitness classes now?
In order to accommodate physical distancing and capacity restrictions, all Group Fitness class sizes have been reduced to a maximum number of participants. With limited capacity, a reservation system allows us to provide you the best experience possible, while still following our state and local guidelines. Please visit our website for a schedule of classes. In light of the limited capacity, CA reserves the right to implement a no-show fee if needed.
Can I reserve a spot in a Group Fitness class if I am a 1Fit member?

How do I reserve a spot in a Group Fitness class?

Will you continue to offer Group Fitness classes and Personal Training virtually?
Yes, we will continue to provide a limited number of free virtual fitness options. Our CA at home video library is accessible via YouTube. You can also request to become part of our Group Fitness at Home Facebook group for new, exclusive content every week.
Will Personal Training, TRX Training and TRIBE Team Training still be offered?
Yes, our personal trainers are available for in-person or virtual training sessions. TRX Training is now running at all three fitness clubs. Tribe Team Training is running with in-person and virtual sessions at all three fitness clubs. Limited space is available in the studio. Click here for a full schedule.
Ice Rink
- MASKS: Effective February 1, 2022, fully vaccinated individuals have the option to remove their masks in CA facilities.
- SANITATION & CLEANLINESS: Employees will disinfect the benches, stands, doorknobs, dashers, locker rooms and restrooms between sessions. Sanitizing wipes will be provided for coaches and visitors as well. Additional sanitizing stations have been set up throughout the rink for your use. Sanitary wipes are also available for cleaning music equipment, timekeepers board and team benches after each use.
- RESERVATIONS: At this time, reservations are not required for public skating and stick & puck sessions. Reservations are encouraged for freestyle (figure skating) sessions, but walk-ins will still be accepted if not at full capacity.
- PAYMENT: Please try to pay with a credit or debit card. However, cash transactions are still accepted at this time.
- FOOD & DRINK: Water bottle filling station will be open near locker room #2 for skaters. The snack-bar will be open this year under limited weekend hours. There is a new mini snack-bar at the front desk with snacks (including hot dogs) and drinks.
- LOCKERS: Locker rooms are open at this time.
Martial Arts
- MASKS: Effective February 1, 2022, fully vaccinated individuals have the option to remove their masks in CA facilities.
- LOCATION: All classes are being held at Columbia Gym for now. We hope to bring classes back to Columbia Athletic Club and Supreme Sports Club soon.
- CAPACITY: Class sizes remain limited according to state and county guidelines.
- DISTANCING:
- Students are distanced 6 feet apart with stickers on the floor.
- No physical contact occurs during class.
- SANITATION & CLEANLINESS: A 15-minute period is scheduled between classes to clean and sanitize the class area.
- DROP OFF: No parents are allowed in the room during class.
We have postponed the return of some classes, including those for families and 2-3 years olds for safety reasons.

Indoor Pools
Below are some of the changes you can expect at Aquatics facilities:
- MASKS: Effective February 1, 2022, fully vaccinated individuals have the option to remove their masks in CA facilities.
- SANITATION & CLEANLINESS:
- Airius PureAir fans have been installed in Columbia Swim Center’s lobby that provide UV sanitation of the air, which kills bacteria and viruses. For more information, click here.
- Fresh air intake provided by HVAC systems increases air exchange rates in all CA facilities.
- RESERVATIONS:
- Reservations are no longer required for lap swimming or recreational swimming. There will be one more exception: Lanes 1-4 at Supreme Sports Club. These lanes will continue to operate with the reservation system, while lanes 5-8 will be open for drop-in swimming for 1fit Supreme and Fit & Play members.
- As with all group fitness classes, aqua fitness classes still require advanced registration and have capacity limitations. You can find registration information further down on this page.
- EQUIPMENT: For your safety cash/check transactions (credit card or online payments only) will not be available until further notice. The Columbia Swim Center Snack Bar is closed.

Are you offering One-on-One Swim Lessons?
Yes, lessons are 15 minutes with a 5 minute break between lessons to allow participants to safely rotate in and out of lessons. Swim instructors will wear a protective swim mask during the the lesson. Click here to register for swim lessons.
Are you offering Group Swim Lessons?
In order to accommodate physical distancing and capacity restrictions, we are limiting swim lessons to one-on-one at this time. With limited capacity, a reservation system allows us to provide you the best experience possible, while still following our state and local guidelines. We will continue to look at adding more swim lesson opportunities as regulations change.
Can I stay and watch my child’s swim lesson?
No observers or supervisors are allowed in the Lobby. There is no recreational swimming or wading pool available during the lessons times.
Do lap swimmers need to distance while using lanes?
We encourage swimmers to social distance while sharing a lane. Please enter and exit from opposite sides and take breaks on opposite sides of the pool.
Am I allowed to observe if I don’t have a reservation?
All children ages 13 or younger must be accompanied by a supervisor. Supervisors who are CA members or Columbia Cardholders must be at least 14 years old. Supervisors who are non-members – whether they are using a guest pass or paying the daily admission fee – must be at least 21 years old.
No observers or supervisors are allowed at this time. Anyone inside the facility must have a reserved space. Recreational swim and open swim can be reserved online up to 10 days in advance.

Racquetball/Squash Court
- MASKS: Effective February 1, 2022, fully vaccinated individuals have the option to remove their masks in CA facilities.
- EQUIPMENT: Limited equipment is now available for use during racquetball and squash reservations.
- RESERVATIONS:
- All reservations are made online or over the phone up to seven days in advance.
- Court reservations can be made on the hour and last for 45 minutes or 115 minutes. This allows for our team members to clean touch points and avoid the congregating or passing of players between reservations.
- SANITATION & CLEANLINESS:
- Members and guests are asked to use a spray bottle and clean rags or a sanitizing wipe to sanitize the door handle and other touch points.
- All equipment and high-touch surfaces, including restrooms, are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized and disinfected daily by staff following strict cleaning protocols.
- WALK INS: No walk-ins are permitted at this time. Access to the courts will be based on court reservations only.

Are reservations required to use the courts?
Reservations are required to play on the courts. Racquetball/squash courts are available for reservations online. Click here to access the online reservation system. Players must bring their own equipment. There will be no loaner equipment available.

Are the courts open for match/doubles play?
Racquetball/squash courts are available for individual use, singles match and doubles play.
Will members and guests be required to wear a face mask while using the courts?
Fully vaccinated individuals have the option to remove their masks while playing racquetball or squash inside CA’s fitness clubs. Masks will always be welcome, and remain a requirement for unvaccinated individuals.
Sports Park
SportsPark is currently closed for the season. Please check back for updated safety measures.
- MASKS: Effective December 26, 2021, masks are required in all indoor spaces across Howard County. That means every person – regardless of vaccine status – must wear an approved face covering at all times while inside CA facilities.
- DISTANCING: Maintain physical distancing at all times following the markers on the clubhouse floor.
- ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE: Follow one way directions for entering and exiting the facility.
- PAYMENT: Please pay with a credit or debit card. We are not accepting cash at this time. Please have your payment ready before reaching the register.
- SANITATION & CLEANLINESS: Hand sanitizer stations are available inside the clubhouse.
Mini Golf
- EQUIPMENT:
- All equipment necessary to play will be provided to you at check-in.
- Do not share any equipment with anyone that is not in your household.
- After finishing your round return all equipment to the clubhouse. Please deposit equipment into the return bin to be cleaned for the next use.
- DISTANCING:
- During check-in you will be instructed where to proceed to begin your round.
- While on the course, you MUST keep physical distancing of at least six feet unless in the same household.
- Wait to tee off until the group in front of you has completed the hole and moved to the next hole.
- Stay on the course and the sidewalks. Do not climb on any rocks.
- Please respect physical distancing in the clubhouse at all times.
- MASKS:
- If you lose your golf ball and need to go into the clubhouse to get another, we ask that unvaccinated individuals please enter through the exit with your mask on. Fully vaccinated individuals have the option to remove their masks.
Batting Cages
- EQUIPMENT:
- Batting helmets and bats will be provided at check-in if needed. There is a limited supply of equipment, so it is recommended that you bring your own.
- Do not share equipment with anyone that is not in your household.
- After finishing, return all borrowed equipment to the return bin through the exit door inside the clubhouse so that it can be cleaned for the next use.
- DISTANCING:
- After paying and receiving your equipment, you will be instructed where to proceed to begin your batting.
- While at the facility and in your batting cage area, you MUST keep physical distancing.
- You must maintain proper physical distancing while you wait for your turn to bat.
- Please stay on the sidewalks. Do not walk through the mini golf area.
Skateboarding
- EQUIPMENT:
- Instructors will only be allowed to touch and use their equipment or equipment provided by CA.
- Students are highly encouraged to bring their own equipment and give equipment a thorough cleansing prior to the lesson.
- Equipment such as helmets and pads are available and will be thoroughly cleaned, sanitized and disinfected by the instructor before and after each lesson.
- MASKS:
- Students are not permitted to wear a face mask during the lesson, as it may impair vision and breathing. Face masks are required prior to and after the lesson.
- Masks and gloves may be worn but are not required during the lesson, except for when the instructor is within eight feet of the student.
- DISTANCING: Instructors will position students at well-spaced intervals during lessons.
- SANITATION & CLEANLINESS: Use hand sanitizer frequently during and after your lesson.

Is SportsPark open for the public to use?
The SportsPark is open to everyone: CA members, Columbia residents and the general public.
What precautions does CA have in place for safety and cleaning/sanitizing/disinfecting the equipment?
All equipment that CA provides (bats, helmets, putters, golf balls) is thoroughly cleaned, sanitized and disinfected by staff after each use.
What other steps are you taking to keep us safe?
An abundance of hand sanitizer stations are available throughout the SportsPark. Physical distancing is expected to be adhered to by staff and members/guests. No congregating will be permitted at this time. Members/guests are asked to leave the facility at the end of your activity/event.
Are the restrooms and clubhouse accessible? How are they cleaned?
Both restrooms and the clubhouse are accessible. Face masks are required at all times inside the clubhouse. The entire clubhouse, including restrooms, is thoroughly cleaned, sanitized and disinfected by staff daily following strict cleaning protocols.
How many guests can I bring with me?
You are allowed no more than four people in your group for golf or per batting cage. If you have more than four you will be divided into two or more groups.
Will we be able to play arcade games, air hockey and hoops?
No. Arcade games, air hockey and hoops are closed at this time.
Will the playground and pavilion be open?
No, the playground and pavilion will remain closed until further notice.
Will members and guests be required to wear a face mask when registering to play? What about while using the batting cages or playing mini-golf?
Fully vaccinated members and guests have the option to remove their masks while indoors and outdoors. Masks are always welcome, and remain mandatory for unvaccinated individuals.
Is the snack bar open? May I bring my own snacks and drinks?
The snack bar will be closed for now. There will only be bottled water for sale. You may bring your own snacks and drinks, but they must be consumed outside of the batting cages and mini golf course. Water bottles are allowed in the cages and on the golf course. No glass containers or alcoholic beverages are allowed. Drinking fountains will not be available to use.
Am I able to book time and pay online?
No. At this time we are only accepting walk-in mini-golfers.
Are reservations required or am I able to make reservations?
We do not accept or require reservations to play mini-golf. We are able to keep a steady flow of participants upon their arrival.
Are you hosting birthday parties?
We are currently not offering birthday parties.
Can I bring my own bat and helmet to the batting cages?
Yes, we strongly encourage you to bring all of your own equipment. However, please do not share your equipment.
If I do not have the equipment, will CA provide it? What safety precautions does CA have in place for safety and cleaning/sanitizing/disinfecting the equipment?
Yes, we have bats and helmets. All equipment that CA provides is given upon check-in and is returned to the designated return bin upon finishing your activity/event. ALL equipment will be thoroughly cleaned, sanitized and disinfected by staff after each use.
How will you assign batting cages for baseball and softball?
You may select the cage of your choice from those that are open when you begin. You must stay in that cage the entire time, unless management gives permission to use another cage.
Am I able to book time and pay online?
Yes, we encourage you to book time online.
Will there be times for unlimited batting?
Not at this time.
Your batting cages use tokens. When I am out of tokens, am I able to purchase more? Will they be cleaned?
You may purchase more tokens by getting in line while practicing safe physical distancing. However, if others are waiting, we reserve the right to allow them to bat next. Tokens removed from the collection box are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized and disinfected before and after each use.
Can I schedule skateboarding lessons?
Lessons are available for 60 minutes, and schedules will be booked through each instructor.
Can I stay with my child during their lesson?
Parents/guardians delivering or retrieving minors will not be allowed in the SkatePark (exception for injury or young students in need of parental assistance, in which case one parent will be allowed). Please arrive no more than five minutes before your lesson is scheduled to begin and leave immediately after conclusion of the lesson. Parents will be allowed to wait on the SkatePark outside benches, but not in the Clubhouse.
Will skateboarding equipment be available?
Equipment such as helmets and pads are available and will be thoroughly cleaned, sanitized and disinfected by the instructor before and after each lesson. Students are highly encouraged to bring their own equipment and give equipment a thorough cleansing prior to the lesson. No sharing of any equipment allowed.
Are masks required during skateboarding lessons?
Students are not permitted to wear a face mask during the lesson, as it may impair vision and breathing. Face masks are required prior to and after the lesson. Wash hands before and after your lesson and use hand sanitizer frequently during the lesson.If you are not feeling well, please reschedule. Participants showing any symptoms of illness will be asked to leave immediately.
How do I pay for lessons?
No cash or check transactions allowed. All lessons must be purchased via series sales or paid prior to the lesson on site or by phone with a credit card or debit card.
Tennis

- LOCATION: Owen Brown Tennis Club, Long Reach Tennis Club, Columbia Athletic club and Racquet Club at Hobbits Glen are open for outdoor and indoor tennis. Pickleball is available at Owen Brown Tennis Club.
- RESERVATIONS:
- Tennis and Pickleball Courts are available for reservations online on Columbia Association’s Customer Service System.
- Courts can be reserved online up to seven days in advance, for either 55, 85 mins or 115 mins.
- ILLNESS POLICY: If you are not feeling well, please reschedule. Participants showing any symptoms of illness will be asked to leave immediately.
- PAYMENT: We are not accepting cash or checks at this time. All payments and reservations should be made online or over the phone. On-site, please pay with a credit or debit card.
- DISTANCING:
- Physical distancing is expected to be adhered to by staff and players.
- TOUCH POINTS: All water coolers have been removed. Scorecards and trash are available on the courts. Chairs and benches are available on the courts spaced 6ft apart for member/guest use. Each court reservation will receive a disinfectant spray bottle and wash cloth to wipe down chairs and benches after use.
- SANITATION & CLEANLINESS:
- We have an abundance of hand sanitizer stations available.

Will the ball machine be available for use?
Yes, the ball machine is available for use at Owen Brown Tennis Club and Long Reach Tennis Club by reservation only.

Are all tennis clubs open to CA Members only or can the general public use them as well?
All tennis clubs except Wilde Lake Tennis Club are open to everyone. Non-members will have to pay the guest fee as well as court fees.
Can I sign up for lessons?
Yes, lessons are available and are held at Long Reach Tennis Club, Owen Brown Tennis Club and Columbia Athletic Club Indoor Tennis.
How do you handle shared tennis equipment?
Only coaches will use teaching aids. Players in Adult and Junior programs/lessons can use designated ball tubes to pick up tennis balls. Tubes will be sanitized and disinfected at the end of each lesson. Coaches will sanitize and disinfect ALL equipment and balls before and after each lesson.
We also ask players to avoid touching the balls as much as possible. Please use your foot or racket to roll balls into the net for the coach to pick up or use the designated ball tubes to pick up.
Do I need to wear a mask during my lesson?

Do I need to stay physically distanced during my lesson?
Coaches will position player/s at well-spaced intervals during lessons. Coaches will also stay at least six feet away from students while providing feedback to reduce unnecessary risk and additional contact with others. Also, bring your own towel and water bottle if needed as these will not be provided to you at the facility. We have touchless bottle filler stations available.
How early should I arrive for a lesson? Can I stay with my child while they practice?
