New Exhibits Live on the Archives Online Catalog
Calling all lovers of Columbia history! We’re excited to announce that the Columbia Maryland Archives has two new exhibits live on their online catalog.
“We’re thrilled to be able to offer people new ways to interact with the collections,” says Erin Berry, CMA’s Archivist. “You can learn new things or take a ride down memory lane from the comfort of your own home.”
First, there’s “In His Words,” which was created by two students from Howard Community College’s Rouse Scholars program, Brian Loveless and Matthew Overton. This exhibit features four speeches delivered by James Rouse, and other supporting materials that highlight the content of the speech. Loveless and Overton put together this exhibit in hopes of helping their peers get to know Rouse better through his own words.
Second, you can enjoy a virtual recreation of the exhibit that was created for the Mall in Columbia’s 50th Birthday in September 2021. People reminisce about how they grew up coming to the Mall, how they remember it being built, and how far they traveled for a shopping trip.
You can view both new exhibits here.
There will be more online exhibits coming in the future, so stay tuned!
