What To Expect in Aqua Fitness Classes
Let’s face it: Working out is just plain better in the pool!
“Aqua fitness is as fun as it is good for you,” said CA Fitness Instructor Kim Zanski. “It’s low-impact on your joints and you can adjust the intensity level to whatever you need. Plus, the water massages your body while you’re exercising.”
It was tough to miss out on our beloved aqua fitness classes last summer due to COVID-19, but thankfully, we’re back in action this summer — just with some new safety adjustments in place. Check out a brief video below to hear from Zanski and CA Aquatics Director Marty Oltmanns, then read on to learn more about what to expect this summer!
What Aqua Fitness Will Look Like This Summer
This past year, CA expanded our indoor aqua offerings to give members as many choices as possible. Now, with outdoor pools season approaching, we’re continuing to add extra classes.
That means you can look forward to all the classic choices you love — like Aqua Zumba, Aqua Boot Camp and Aqua Fitness — as well as some dynamic new options (more details coming soon!). These classes will be held at Steven’s Forest Pool and Hobbit’s Glen Pool.
To sign up, you’ll need to make a reservation online. Unlike in the past, drop-ins will no longer be accepted. Here’s some other differences you can expect:
- The lanes will remain in the pools to make social distancing easy
- CA’s instructors wear masks while teaching for your protection
- If you’re not fully vaccinated, you’ll want to arrive with your mask on, though you don’t need to wear it in the pool. Fully vaccinated individuals have the option to remove their masks at CA’s outdoor pools at any time.
- Smaller class sizes to accommodate social distancing
- Remember to bring your own towel to dry off after class
“The CA Aquatics department is staying ahead of local and state guidance, as well as the CDC’s recommendations,” said Oltmanns. “We will continue to make updates as needed to keep programs safe for our members throughout the summer.”
