Columbia Association welcomes new owner of Coho Grill restaurant at Hobbit’s Glen Golf Club
Columbia Association (CA) is happy to welcome Thomas Zippelli, the new owner of The CoHo Grill, a restaurant and bar at CA’s Hobbit’s Glen Golf Club.
Zippelli, who grew up in Ellicott City, brings more than a decade of experience that has included roles in highly regarded restaurants in New York City and California. After attending culinary school in Rhode Island, Zippelli worked at Eleven Madison Park in Manhattan. For the past two and a half years he was at The French Laundry in Napa Valley, most recently as its saucier. Both restaurants have received the maximum of three stars from the prestigious Michelin Guide.
“I’m happy to be back home and am really looking forward to bringing a restaurant to — and for — the Howard County community,” Zippelli said. “Coho Grill will be a great place both for golfers and for the entire community, with an interesting and ever-changing menu of upscale casual American food for lunch and dinner, a fun wine list, really good cocktails, an awesome outdoor area and a wonderful atmosphere.”
Columbia Association also wishes to thank Chuck Sachs, the longtime owner of The CoHo Grill who worked in a restaurant at Hobbit’s Glen while a teenager and ultimately founded his own restaurant there, heading it for the past 23 years.
“I’m so grateful to the golf community, the neighborhood, the local residents, everybody who’s ever visited us and, of course, the staff,” Sachs said.
Hobbit’s Glen Golf Club is a semi-private club offering a plush course, lush green fairways, excellent practice facilities and incredible dining perfect for after-round conversation with fellow members and for entertaining friends or clients.
