From kids’ Tae Kwon Do to self-defense for adults, CA’s martial arts school is affordable and fun! Columbia Association offers a variety of martial arts for kids, teens, adults, and families.

Columbia Association Tae Kwon Do is open to both CA members and non-members and enrollment is offered in two-month sessions.

Class Descriptions

Tiny Dragons (ages 2-3)

Tiny Dragons focuses on balance, coordination, basic listening, following instructions and motor skills through fun drills, games and activities. This is a basic introduction to Tae Kwon Do that will introduce discipline and respect while having fun.

Lil Dragons (ages 4-6)

Lil Dragons will help prepare children for life. They’ll learn discipline, cooperation and respect. Parents and siblings are invited to participate to provide their child with a comfortable family atmosphere.

Tae Kwon Do (ages 7+)

The Columbia Association Tae Kwon Do is proud to be the ONLY program authorized as an official member school of the International Tae Kwon Do Federation (ITF-USA) in Howard County and one of three in the state of Maryland! The ITF is the world’s original and oldest sanctioning body for Tae Kwon Do as developed by the art’s founder, General Choi Hong-Hi. Tae Kwon Do is a traditional Korean Martial Art known for its dynamic flying and spinning kicks. Tae Kwon Do provides a fun and progress-oriented experience that will instill a positive attitude, build confidence and self-esteem, develop character, promote the desire to learn, improve motivation and concentration and teach self-discipline and respect. Classes are taught in a safe and friendly environment for kids and adults by experienced Master Instructors.

We also offer a fun family class that parents and children can take together. Classes are ongoing-ask us about our monthly deduction plans!

Classes are offered in levels – Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Black Belt and Parent-Child Class.

The Columbia Association Tae Kwon Do has recently expanded to include a traditional Okinawan Weapons (Kobudo) program featuring weapons such as the Bo, Sai, Tonfa, Nunchaku, Kama, and the rarely seen Kusari-Kama or “Flying Kama”. In addition we are now proud to boast a dynamic tournament competition team which routinely places among the best karate teams in our state and region
