An audit of all 23 of CA’s outdoor pools was conducted as part of the CAC certification process. To meet the requirements set by IBCCES, CA has invested in new graphic signage and various upgrades — such as comprehensive Sensory Guides, which help prepare children and families for their experience and the impact on their senses on a scale of 1-10. CA is also deploying sensory bags to each pool with tools like noise canceling headphones, water sensory timers and fidget toys.

The chart below details the scores for various CA amenities.

Sensory Bags & Low Sensory Area

Each of our pools is equipped with an Emergency Sensory Bag at the front desk or guard office at the indoor pools.

If someone in your family or a guest is struggling with too much sensory stimulation in the pool area, please see the lifeguards. The lifeguards will allow you to use the guard office where available or can direct you to quiet corner of the pool on slower days and can assist with moving furniture if available to that location.

Each Bag is equipped with the following items that can be borrowed and returned:

  • Noise canceling earmuffs
  • Variety of fidget toys in assorted colors and textures
  • Liquid motion timers
