Joan Lovelace has over 32 years of experience teaching all levels of play. Joan is a member of both the PGA and LPGA – an elite club of only 200 across the country. Joan was also inducted to the Howard County Women’s Hall of Fame for her contributions to her sport. In 2019 Joan received the LPGA Professional of the year award. Joan’s passion for teaching golf comes through by tailoring her lesson plan to the student’s needs and goals.

A graduate of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore with a degree in PGA Golf Management and a minor in Digital Media Studies, Sumayah brings a well-rounded background in golf instruction, player development, and operations. As a former Division I collegiate golfer and team captain, she’s built her career on the values of leadership, resilience, and inclusion—principles that guide every lesson she teaches.
With hands-on experience in junior instruction, private coaching, tournament coordination, and pro shop operations, Sumayah is passionate about making golf accessible and enjoyable for players of all skill levels. Her approach to instruction is rooted in creating a supportive and encouraging environment where players can build confidence and reach their goals.
She believes in meeting each player where they are and using every interaction as an opportunity to grow the game and inspire the next generation.

Richard Keh has been playing golf for over 15 years and brings a passion for both the game and instruction to every lesson. As a dedicated coach with the Columbia Association, he enjoys working with a wide range of golfers—from high school golf team players to adult beginners- helping them build a strong foundation and lasting enjoyment for the game.
Coach Keh has completed several PGA-endorsed golf clinics and holds a First Tee – Level Two certification, deepening his expertise in swing mechanics and player development. His teaching philosophy emphasizes the importance of solid fundamentals, believing that a consistent golf swing not only improves performance but also enhances a player’s overall experience on the course.
Whether you’re a beginner or looking to refine your technique, Coach Keh is committed to helping each golfer grow in skill, confidence, and love for the game.

Peter has been teaching golf classes for over 20 years. At Hobbits Glen, Peter has taught classes, provided individual and group lessons. He is involved with the Junior Program, as well. Prior to joining Hobbits Glen, Peter was a higher education professional as a college counselor and as a Dean of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. Peter brings his skills to make a positive experience for all golfers at Hobbits Glen.

Chang (Tony) Oh has over 10 years of experience teaching and mentoring golf in Howard County. He is involved with PGA Junior Program, Operation 36 and First Tee of Howard County. He teaches both adult and youth golf classes with customized instruction plans to help improve their golf skills and meet their goals.

Keith Tripp is a passionate golf instructor focused on helping players of all levels improve their game and enjoy the sport. With over 15 years of experience and a positive, fundamentals-based teaching style, Keith tailors each lesson to fit and address the unique needs of the golfer. Keith believes everyone has their own unique swing and strives to help his students have fun on the journey to improving it.

Steve Weathersbee is a recognized First Tee Coach (Level 3). 2023 is in his seventh season coaching with First Tee Howard County. He fell in love with golf as an adult, and the First Tee specifically when his daughter joined the program in 2016.
He has over 20 years experience coaching and mentoring youth in Howard and Anne Arundel County. In addition to coaching First Tee, he is a Level 2 certified coach with US Kids Golf. He teaches both adult and youth group golf classes for Columbia Association, and Howard County Parks and Recreation on top of private golf lessons. He is a PGA Associate, and actively pursuing full membership in the PGA.
