New and Renewal Candidates for a Lifeguard course must participate in the E&A International Lifeguard Training Program hosted by the Columbia Association. Candidates must complete their course in its entirety and receive a passing grade. These classes are not open to the general public, and all candidates must have accepted an offer prior to signing up for the class.
Candidates must pass a written examination with a score of 80% or higher, pass individual technical performance exams and simulation practical exams to qualify for Licensure or Course Completion. Candidates will also be judged on maturity, demeanor, and attentiveness during the class. Your course instructor has the final word in determining who passes the course and receives an E&A Lifeguard License or ILTP Course Completion Certificate.
CA covers the expense of a Lifeguard course. The Licensure is only valid at a CA operated facility and can be restricted at any point of employment. Lifeguard Licenses are a prerequisite for consideration of employment. Candidates time for a lifeguard class and the Pectora course modules are unpaid.
Possessing an ILTP Course Completion Certificate or E&A Lifeguard License does not guarantee employment.
