General Information

Why group training?

Group training combines the personal attention of one-on-one coaching with the energy and camaraderie of training alongside others (no more than 8 people). It’s progressive, guided by a certified trainer, and tailored to the group’s needs.

How is group training different than the group fitness classes included in membership?

Group training is all about you – your goals, your progress, your success. With personalized coaching from a certified trainer and progressive workouts tailored to your goals, you’ll get the attention and support you need in a close-knit group of no more than 8 participants. It’s the perfect balance of expert guidance and community energy.

Group fitness classes offer fun, high-energy workouts for a variety of fitness levels, with larger class sizes (15–30+ participants). While great for staying active, these classes aren’t designed to progress week to week like group training.

Session Information

What formats are offered?

We’re keeping your favorite formats — and adding something new!

  • Tribe Fit: High-intensity interval training (HIIT) to help you move and perform like an athlete. (2x/week for 8 weeks)
  • Tribe Life: Low-impact functional training that builds strength, mobility, and longevity. (2x/week for 8 weeks)
  • TRX: Total-body strength and balance using the TRX Suspension Trainer. (1x/week for 8 weeks)
  • Tribe Kids: Fun, skill-building physical activity for developing strong, confident kids. (1x/week for 8 weeks)
  • Move to Live More™: Our new signature group training format! Designed for individuals who are new or returning to fitness, this 4-week, twice-a-week program helps you build confidence and consistency in movement.

All group training sessions (except Move to Live More™) follow a progressive 8-week structure and last 55 minutes. Move to Live More™ runs for 4 weeks and lasts 45 minutes.

How big are the groups?

Each session is capped at 8 participants — ensuring personalized coaching, real-time feedback, and a strong team atmosphere.

How long is each session?

Group training sessions are designed to fit your schedule – each one lasts about 45–55 minutes of focused, energizing work to keep you moving toward your goals. 

Do I need prior experience?

Not at all! Every fitness level is welcome. Your coach will tailor each workout to your abilities, whether you’re just starting out or looking to take your training to the next level. 

What if I can’t do a certain exercise?

No worries – we’ve got you. Every exercise can be modified to your needs, abilities or current fitness level, so you’ll always feel supported and confident. 

How quickly will I feel results?

The first session is a game-changerWith regular attendance, you’ll start seeing and feeling results – stronger muscles, better endurance and boosted confidence – in as little as 4–6 weeks.

Is it competitive?

Absolutely not. This is your journey, supported by a team that lifts you up. No competition– just encouragement and growth.

What should I bring?

Comfortable gear, supportive shoes and water. Most importantly, bring your commitment to yourself!

We recommend 5 sessions per month for formats that meet once weekly (TRX, Tribe Kids) and 9 sessions per month for formats that meet twice weekly (TribeFit, TribeLife, Move to Live More™).

How do I enroll in group training?

Complete this form to get started! We’ll reach out to answer questions and get you set up for success.

How do I register for specific group training sessions?

  1. Log in to the Columbia Association app or online portal.
  2. Select “Schedule”
  3. Select your preferred location “Columbia Athletic Club, Columbia Gym or Supreme Sports Club.”
  4. Select category “Fitness programs”
  5. Select your group training session and hit “sign up” or “join the waitlist.”
  6. Review participants and price. Select “confirm” to enroll.

What are my group training program options?

Our group training program gives you the flexibility you need! Choose the option that works best for you:

  • Train about one time per week (5 sessions per month)
  • Train about two times per week (9 sessions per month)
  • Contact us about training more frequently than two times per week

Use your sessions for any group training session that fits your schedule—no need to stick to the same day or time.

Sessions renew automatically on the 1st of each month when payment is processed and expire at the end of that month.

Prefer a more casual approach? You can also join individual sessions at our convenient drop-in rate.

What’s the commitment if I enroll in a group training?

Just a two-month minimum. After that, you can cancel anytime with 30 days’ notice.

You can also freeze your sessions once per year if you need a break.

Can I enroll in group training at any time?

Absolutely! We can get you started anytime. You’ll pay a pro-rated amount to get started, then transition to 1st-of-the-month billing. After completing two 1st of the month billing cycles, you’re free to cancel with 30 days’ notice.

Can I apply sessions to any group training format?

Yes! You can use your sessions for any CA group training format.

To get the most from our progressive 8-week programs, we encourage you to stay consistent with the same format for the full cycle — but you’ll always have the freedom to train when and where it works best for you.

Do I need to sign up in advance for sessions?

Yes — to keep groups small and personalized, pre-registration is required to reserve your spot.

What if I need to reschedule or cancel a session?

We get it — life happens! You can cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours in advance without penalty.

Can I roll over sessions each month?

Sessions renew automatically on the 1st of each month when payment is processed and expire at the end of that month.
