Columbia Village & CA Board Elections
Your Village. Your Voice. Your Vote.
Welcome to the heart of community decision-making in Columbia! Whether you’re new to the area or ready to make an impact, understanding how village elections and Columbia Association Board elections work is the first step toward shaping the future of your village and our larger community.
What are village elections?
Columbia is made up of 10 villages, each with its own independent community association. Village associations are responsible for organizing and running their own annual elections to fill vacancies on the individual village board, as well as vacancies for a village representative on Columbia Association’s Board of Directors.
Each village has its own election rules and nomination process, so the details can vary, but the goal is the same: Put residents’ voices at the heart of local decision-making.
While CA provides information on village elections, it’s important to check with your village association if you have any questions or to verify your status to vote or run. If you’re a property owner or tenant residing on property within any village, chances are you can vote or run in the election.
What is the village board?
Village boards serve as the voice for your community, advocating for residents and helping guide:
- Village programming, events and services
- Communication with residents and local partners
- Neighborhood initiatives and quality-of-life improvements
- Enforcement of village covenants and community standards
Serving on a village board empowers you to influence the issues that matter most in your neighborhood.
What is CA’s Board of Directors?
Each village elects one representative to serve on Columbia Association’s 10-member Board of Directors. This board delivers strategic guidance for Columbia Association and helps ensure community priorities are heard at the organizational level. The CA Board provides high-level direction on things like:
- Community amenities and recreation
- Organization-wide policies and budget oversight
- Long-term planning for Columbia’s future
Board members are elected by the residents in their villages in April.
Am I eligible to vote or run?
The election processes are governed and run by each individual village. This means the specific rules, like who can vote and who can serve as a representative, varies village by village. It’s also likely you can vote if you own or operate a business in one of the ten villages. Find your village below, and contact your village directly to determine your eligibility.

How do I run?
If you’re interested in running, join Columbia Association’s leaders, Board of Directors and village representatives for a candidate information session on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 5pm. This is an opportunity to learn more about what it takes to serve on a village board or CA’s Board of Directors.
The CA Board of Directors consists of a group of 10 residents elected by their respective villages with CA’s President/CEO serving as a non-voting member. Guided by a strategic plan, the Board is charged with providing high level strategic direction to the organization’s leaders. Members should be committed to the betterment of the organization, connected to their community and driven by service.
Each village has a unique process for candidates interested in running for the village board or CA Board of Directors.
