Spring is in the air in Columbia! Whether you’re searching for fun ways to keep the kids busy during spring break or hoping to get more involved and active in your community, now’s the perfect time to embrace the season of fresh starts.
Spring break staycation with the kids
Many local students will be off school when Howard County Public Schools close for spring break March 30-April 3. If you’re planning a spring break staycation this year, CA offers many ways to keep the family entertained.
- Columbia SportsPark opens Friday, March 27 offering mini golf, batting cages and skating.
- Bring the kiddos to special School’s Out SplashDown events at Columbia Swim Center on Monday, March 30 and Thursday, April 2.
- KidSpace offers Adventure Days at all three fitness clubs March 30-April 3, open to CA members and non-members alike. Drop the kids off for a day of games, arts, crafts, and more.
- On March 30-April 3, the Roller Skating Arena at Supreme Sports Club offers a special public public roller-skating session from 1-3pm.
- Play areas are open every day from dusk until dawn. Use Discover CA to find a new neighborhood and Play Area to explore!

More ways to spring into action
- Columbia Cleans: Meet your neighbors and make a difference right in your backyard! Many Columbia villages host their own community clean-up days, with supplies provided by CA. First up:
- Saturday, March 21: King’s Contrivance, River Hill, Wilde Lake
- Sunday, March 22: Long Reach
- Try tennis or pickleball: Spring is perfect for trying something new! Join us for Try Tennis & Pickleball Day at Long Reach Tennis Club on Sunday, March 29 (1-3pm) to learn the basics and have some fun. Fun fact: CA has 50 racquet courts!
