Ice Now, Summer Plans Next: Camps Top of Mind for Parents
After recent school closures, the topic of childcare has been front and center for families. As the region thaws, many parents are beginning to shift from “What do I do today?” to “What do I do this summer?” With summer camp registration now open, now is the moment to start that conversation.
And as with every summer, Columbia Association (CA) is showing up to offer parents dynamic programming to keep kids engaged, active and inspired. With expanded capacity this year, CA is opening its camps to more families than before. Registration, which opens Monday, February 2, secures a spot with a deposit. Final payment is due two weeks before camps begin, offering a more flexible payment option than camps that require payment up-front.
Here’s what to expect from CA summer camps:
- Art Camp – Art Camp provides exciting avenues of creativity and discovery to every camper. Each week has a unique theme to promote diverse and entertaining projects. Campers will experiment with colors, textures, mediums and performance methods through daily projects and lessons.
- Camp Extra – Campers experience arts and crafts, sports and games, STEAM/STEM-related activities, cooking projects and more, all related to the weekly theme. Some weeks include virtual field trips, special guests or volunteer service-learning projects.
- Nature Camp – Campers learn an appreciation for nature through a variety of activities which may include archery, nature walks, arts and crafts and sports. When the weather cooperates, campers experience the best of summer with swimming, water activities and cookouts.
