Following Ethics Investigation, Three Members of Columbia Association’s Board of Directors Removed

April 24, 2026 | Board of Directors, News

Three members of the Columbia Association (CA) Board of Directors have been removed for ethics violations following a CA Ethics Panel investigation. The decision was announced at the April 23 Board of Directors meeting.

Effective immediately, Reg Avery, Karin Emery and Eric Greenberg are no longer serving in their capacity as CA Board of Directors and Columbia Council members. Their removal follows an ethics investigation report and recommendations made to the Board of Directors on April 9 and reviewed on April 14. In accordance with CA’s bylaws and its process for considering alleged violations of the Code of Business Conduct & Policies, the CA board members, as the Columbia Council, met prior to the April 23 open meeting of the Board of Directors to take final action on the Ethics Panel recommendations.

CA’s Ethics Panel was established in 2023 to ensure the highest standards of ethical conduct within CA leadership, including the Board of Directors. The panel, an independent body, is comprised of three attorneys that have no affiliation or interest in CA.

“This board takes its obligations to Columbia Association and the Columbia community seriously, and that includes maintaining the integrity of our governance,” said Chair Collin Sullivan. “Tonight’s action reflects that commitment.”

The details of the ethics investigation, including the panel’s findings and the basis for removal of members, were handled in closed sessions. In doing so, the board followed CA’s ethics policies and rules regarding confidentiality and acted pursuant to the law. During the April 23 meeting, remaining board members voted to release the findings. Removed members all endorsed the release of the findings, as well. Findings of the report can be found here.
