What are Les Mills courses?
Before we dive into specific courses, let’s explain a little bit more about the Les Mills program. Started in New Zealand, Les Mills is now a world-famous fitness company, offering all types of group workouts – including boot camp sessions, high-intensity interval training (HIIT), cardio classes, yoga, and more – at gyms around the globe.
Each Les Mills class is designed to help participants stay healthy and fit, but some sessions have specific focal points, such as cardio health, strength training, or specific muscle groups (such as core).
Les Mills BodyPump: To get lean and toned
As Les Mills’ original full body workout program, BodyPump is a strength training class that trains all major muscle groups. In it, you’ll use a barbell (with or without weights) to complete high repetitions of upper-body weight-lifting exercises. You’ll also use a step to tone and strengthen your lower body at the same time.
Les Mills CORE: To improve your core strength
If your goal is to create a tighter core, consider joining this ab-blasting Les Mills session. It focuses on science-based movements to strengthen your core muscles, incorporating bodyweight training, weightlifting, and resistance exercises. Having a stronger core helps you achieve better balance, stability, and endurance, while also playing a role in injury prevention.
Les Mills BodyStep: To work your lower body
Sculpt your calves, quads, and glutes with Les Mills’ BodyStep group workouts. These fast-paced cardio classes will have you stepping up and down to the rhythm of fun, motivational music – and will whip your lower body into shape in no time. You’ll also participate in bodyweight exercises, like push-ups and burpees, for an extra impactful full body workout.
Les Mills BodyCombat: To work on your cardio health
BodyCombat is a high-energy cardio class that blends moves from karate, Tae Kwon Do, Muay Thai, boxing, and more, for a martial arts-inspired workout that produces results. These exciting sessions are perfect for anyone who wants to boost their heart health in a challenging, non-contact setting.
